چکیده

Introduction: Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) is one of the leading causes mortality with obesity being greatest risk factors. Increased protein intake has been found to increase satiety, that could potentially aid in weight control. However, much research elusive on specifics effects plant-based protein, specifically pea satiety and responses linked appetite. The purpose this review was investigate postprandial glucose response Methods: Studies existing literature were found, filtered, analyzed from scientific databases Cochrane Library, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web Science entering a combination keywords “pea protein”, “satiety”, “postprandial response”. A total 11 articles determine relationship between consumption Results: Pea as preload increased lowered food 30 120 minutes after ingestion. Postprandial blood various appetite hormones at different time lapses. Discussion: Although oral alone seen effectively induce other factors such addition fibre, method administration, or rates gastric emptying significantly affect intake. Conclusion: This establishes link plant proteins its benefits feelings promote incorporating more diet. Future should further identify for use industry public protein.

Contribution of gastroenteropancreatic appetite hormones to protein-induced satiety.

BACKGROUND Effects of protein intake on appetite-regulating hormones and their dynamics are unclear. OBJECTIVES We investigated the satiating effects of meals with varying protein contents and whether there was an effect of dose on appetite-regulating hormones and appetite ratings. DESIGN Twenty-five men [mean ± SD age: 30.0 ± 8.7 y; body mass index (BMI; in kg/m(2)): 25.9 ± 4.7] participat...

The impact of gut hormones on the neural circuit of appetite and satiety: A systematic review

The brain-gut-axis is an interdependent system affecting neural functions and controlling our eating behaviour. In recent decades, neuroimaging techniques have facilitated its investigation. We systematically looked into functional and neurochemical brain imaging studies investigating how key molecules such as ghrelin, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), peptide tyrosine-tyrosine (PYY), cholecysto...

Liquid meal composition, postprandial satiety hormones, and perceived appetite and satiety in obese women during acute caloric restriction.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to compare postprandial satiety regulating hormone responses (pancreatic polypeptide (PP) and peptide tyrosine tyrosine (PYY)) and visual analog scale- (VAS) assessed perceived appetite and satiety between liquid high-protein (HP) and high-carbohydrate (HC) meals in obese women during acute (24-h) caloric restriction. DESIGN Eleven obese premenopausal w...

Postprandial effects of polydextrose on satiety hormone responses and subjective feelings of appetite in obese participants

BACKGROUND Dietary fibers are associated with enhanced satiety. However, the mechanism of different dietary fibers contributing to satiety-related gastrointestinal (GI) peptide release, especially in an obese population, is still poorly understood. Polydextrose (PDX), a water-soluble glucose polymer, has demonstrated its ability to reduce energy intake at a subsequent meal, but its mechanism of...

Postprandial effects on plasma lipids and satiety hormones from intake of liposomes

Background: The composition and surface structure of dietary lipids influence their intestinal degradation. Intake of liposomes made of fractionated oat oil (LOO) is suggested to affect the digestion process and postprandial lipemia and also induce satiety. Objective: In the present study, the metabolic effects on plasma lipids and gut hormones related to satiety were investigated in healthy in...
